10. rimmel to the rescue

for my prom, me and my friends decided to go for the full works, fake tan, nails, eyelashes, make-over... you know it! however while all the luxurys were washed away after a week, the nails (gel sculptured) were still there. they lasted about 3 weeks, before i filed them down. the good things about them however is that they dont chip and your nails are contantly perfect. i also loved painting over the gel nails (like i have here), they got a really even finish and looked amazing long! when i gave into them, and filed them down, my nails underneath were in such bad condition, (when the manicurist was putting them on at the salon for some mad-annoying-savage reason she filed my actualy nail!) so i filed them relatively short so they wouldnt chip as they were really thin.

i found Rimmel's Nail Rescue for £4.59 from Superdrug. I wasn't sure if it would work as i know you can get these kind of rescues for at least a £10er! however it claimed that within 2 weeks my nails would be longer, stonger, harder, and more resilliant in 2 weeks, and that it reduces chipping and splitting.

so far so good... it went on really quickly and quite thin, and i am very happy to say, basically as soon as i put in on...it was DRY. a week in my nails were looking at lot more healthier and when firmly pressing my nail tips down, they were problably as hard as they were before i had the fake nails put on! 2 weeks later, they are definitely harder, and haven't chipped once, which is really unusual for my nails anyway! from now on i think the best thing would be to use this as base coat any time i paint my nails, hopefully as my weak ruined nails grow out my new nails in the next month or so, they will be as hard as nails ;)

  1. Looks promising, luckily I don't have weak nails, but I know some people who do and I will definatly recommend this to them :-) x
